However, the transformation of an entire organization can only be realized when its members, the followers, actually &#8220;take action&#8221;. In other words, a leader is a person who motivates followers to &#8220;take action&#8221; and brings dynamism to the entire organization.<br>To this end, it is of utmost importance to create an environment in which members can feel &#8220;psychological safety&#8221;.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Psychological safety fosters cooperation.<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Leaders make it clear to members that they trust you.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>If the leader does not trust the members, the members will not trust him or her back.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Leaders self-disclose their strengths, weaknesses, fears, and mistakes to members.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Leaders spend time getting to know members and finding out what their concerns are.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Leaders show interest in the problems and desires of members.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Leaders create opportunities for dialogue and conduct a series of 1-on-1 meetings.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Leaders are mindful to put the interests of the organization and its members ahead of their own interests.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Return the favor. When you are helped, help back.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Continue to emphasize the importance of mutual reliance and partnership.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Creating an organization of empowerment that creates ideal followership<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Leaders clearly understand that leaders and followers are interrelated.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Empower members. Make each person feel that he or she is in charge of his or her own life.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Give them discretion in how they approach their work and deal with customers.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Create work structures and systems that allow members to make their own decisions.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Give them the resources (especially information) they need to succeed.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Reduce routine tasks whenever possible. Increase the mood of emphasis on efficiency.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Pay attention to the right people in the organization based on the abilities of the members.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Show trust in each person&#8217;s abilities.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Create an educational environment that will help each individual&#8217;s abilities move toward maturity.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Education is an environment that emphasizes &#8220;awareness and self-directed learning&#8221; rather than instruction.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Create an organizational culture in which leaders and members continue to learn together.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Stress the importance of viewing any job from a manager&#8217;s perspective and from a holistic viewpoint.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A good leader is one who evokes a &#8220;common vision&#8221; and then implements a process to further break out of the status quo.
