We have talked about the importance of the “three principles of coaching” as the principles of coaching in various key words. The Japanese word “genri\uff08principles\uff09” is often used in everyday conversation. In addition, “genri-gensoku\uff08principles and general rules\uff09” is often used as a four-letter idiom. In this issue, we will take a fresh look at the meaning of “principles and general rules”.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

First, here is the definition from Kojien.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Principle
The fundamental law on which a thing is based. The fundamental law of perception or action.
The essential thing on which other things depend. The root of the world, the fundamental element of things in a realm.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

\n

General rules
The fundamental proposition from which other propositions are derived.
The fundamental rules of human activity. A fundamental rule. Used almost synonymously with principle, but principle rather implies the ground of existence.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

As I read it carefully, the word “essence” also came to my mind. Here is the definition, also from Kojien.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Essence.
Some inherent property that makes something what it is.
Something unchanging that lurks behind and inside the phenomenal entity that “the world is always moving.”<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

Changing from time to time
Spring, summer, autumn, and winter change from time to time, but spring does not suddenly become summer. Spring gently turns into summer, summer gently turns into autumn, and autumn gently turns into winter. All things are changing from moment to moment, just like spring, summer, fall, and winter.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

Eternity
A new spring always follows winter. Then comes a new summer, a new fall, and a new winter. This law of change never changes.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

\n

Easy and Simple
If we apply these principles to human life and management, it is very easy and simple.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n
