Company C also quit within a year, so Company Z will probably quit within a year.&#8221; Based on the common fact that all three companies quit within a year, the logic is to predict what will happen next.<br>Now, let&#8217;s consider a coaching session with a client who has this case.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Mr. S, who has already quit three companies within a year, is looking for his next company. He responds, &#8220;I will not quit this time, I will do my best. The coach introduces inductive reasoning and asks the client to think about it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>S. then asks the coach, &#8220;Does that mean I&#8217;m going to quit again?&#8221; I tell the coach anxiously.<br>The coach asks, &#8220;Let&#8217;s use another inductive reasoning, shall we? Think back to Mr. S&#8217;s feelings at the three companies. Why did you decide to quit, and what were the common factors?&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Then Mr. S. said,<br>I quit Company A because I couldn&#8217;t stand the dogmatic approach of Manager N.<br>I quit Company B because I got fed up with Manager Y&#8217;s way of telling me what to do and not letting me do it.<br>I left Company C because President M was a one-man operation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Then, Mr. S thinks for a while.<br>I wanted to be entrusted with more work. I don&#8217;t like to be told what to do,&#8221; he said in a tone of voice as if he had just realized it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>And this is where the real coaching process would begin.<br>When we are able to recognize and calmly accept the factors behind our repetitive behavior, it motivates us to reevaluate our own behavior.
