This is bias, a situation in which our thinking is biased.<br>You have probably heard of confirmation bias, which is the tendency to collect only information that is favorable to oneself and use that as the basis for judgment, and normality bias, which is the tendency to ignore information that is unfavorable to oneself.<br>The halo effect, which is often encountered in personnel evaluations, can also be viewed as a bias. It is a phenomenon in which a person is drawn to a prominent characteristic and misperceives it as if it were the total personality of the person.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It is also a reality that people will always remember the unpleasant things they did rather than the enjoyable ones, and this can put the brakes on their behavior.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Thus, when a client is identified as being stuck in a particular emotion, limited perspective, or way of thinking, the coach infuses a new element into the client&#8217;s inner being.<br>For example, the client can be made aware of the following statement by replying with a straightforward statement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>That&#8217;s just common sense.<br>\u2192&#8221;What is your idea of common sense?&#8221;<br>I&#8217;ve tried everything, but it doesn&#8217;t work.<br>\u2192&#8221;Everything?&#8221;<br>Everyone is unwilling.<br>\u2192&#8221;Is that everyone?\u201d<br>It&#8217;s good for you.<br>\u2192&#8221;Compared to what?&#8221;<br>I hate sales.<br>\u2192&#8221;What do you dislike about sales?&#8221;<br>Communication between husband and wife is not going well.<br>\u2192&#8221;What do you consider good communication?&#8221;<br>\u2192&#8221;Husbands and wives may have different definitions of communication.&#8221;<br>\u3000\u3000\u3000\u3000\u3000\u3000\u3000\u3000\u3000\u3000\u3000\u3000\u3000\u3000\u3000\u3000\u3000\u3000\u3000\u3000\u3000\u3000\u3000\u3000\u3000\u3000\u3000\u3000\u3000\u3000\u3000\u3000\u3000\u3000\u3000\u3000\u3000\u3000\u3000\u3000\u3000\u3000\u3000\u3000\u3000\u3000\u3000\u3000\u3000\u3000\u3000\u3000<br>For clients who are caught up in bias, &#8220;What?&#8221; &#8220;Short words&#8221; that omit preamble will be effective.&#8221;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Our brains are said to be &#8220;inclined to generalize,&#8221; &#8220;interpret things in a way that suits us,&#8221; and so on.
