Communication has developed as a means of accomplishing what cannot be accomplished alone. “Requests” are requests for cooperation from those around you in order to accomplish a goal.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“Requests” is different from a “command. “Requests” leaves the choice of whether to accept or reject it to the client.”Requests” is an I-message that says, “I feel that I want you to do \u3007\u3007\u3007.
In coaching, “Youbou no skills” could be used in Japanese (Kanji), but we will use the English word “Requests” here.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In coaching, “Requests” are the driving force to achieve goals. One of the three principles of coaching is “two-way\u2026interactive.
Coaching in which both coach and client are free to make requests brings results faster and more reliably.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On top of that, “Requests” from the coach help the client to grow dramatically. People tend to unconsciously set a limit to their thoughts and actions, such as “This is as far as I can go”.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For example, a person thinks, “It will take me a week to finish this document,” and requests, “I want it done by tomorrow. This may cause the client to try a step he or she had not taken before. Or they may seek the cooperation of others.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In this way, “Requests” is to bring awareness to a topic that has not been tried before, to draw out the potential of the other person, and to encourage the client to move outside of his or her unconsciously created boundaries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

However, there must be a strong relationship of trust between the coach and the client. Moreover, it is a mistake to over-request and cause stress to the client.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Clients are unique. A professional coach is required to understand the total personality of the client through skills such as “listening” and “questioning,” and to make appropriate “Requests”.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
