However, the client’s current situation has not yet reached that state, so there is a gap between the goal and the client’s current situation. This stage is about “bridging it,” i.e., expanding the image so that the client can have a real sense of the options to reach the goal/goal.

Achievement of the goal involves “action. In doing so, it is necessary to clarify what actions are to be taken and in what order. Specifically, the coach engages the client to expand the options for action as much as possible in the following ways

Asking them what actions they need to take in order to achieve the goal.
(e.g., “What do you think we should do to accomplish the goal, without thinking for the moment about whether or not we can?”）

Ask questions to elicit as many options as possible.
(e.g., “What else do you think we should do?”) Repeat the question, “What else can we do?

Encourage them to think from different perspectives (e.g., “What do you think is the best way to achieve your goal?
(e.g., “What would you like to do if you had no constraints in terms of time, money, people, skills, etc.?”)

Ask not why or why not, but what you think you could do if you had it.
(e.g., “You mentioned causes for not being able to do it, but what would make you think you could do it?”)

(e.g.) “You mentioned the reasons why we can’t do it, but what do you think we could do if we could?
(e.g., “Which of these options is the most important and highest priority?” (e.g., “Now that we have multiple options, how would you prioritize them?”)

In this way, we will clarify “by when” and “what to do.
However, be careful not to focus so much on solving problems or achieving goals that the client loses focus on himself/herself, and opportunities for learning and growth are lost. The true outcome of coaching is learning and growth.

The sixth of the “basic 10 steps” of the coaching flow is “Close the gap between your goals and your current situation!” The sixth step in the coaching flow is “Close the gap between your…

[10

post-1911","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-encyclopedia","en-US
["GET
