Since diversity is about recognizing differences in gender, age, race, religion, values, etc., these words alone do not clarify the attitude after recognition. In the extreme, some may accept the idea that each person should create his or her own colony without intermingling with the others. Therefore, the concept of “acceptance and inclusion” must be added to the concept to make it a unified whole.

Coaching is an imported term that has been interpreted in many different ways. Some organizations are promoting content that is not even close to coaching.

The CBL Coaching Information Bureau’s stance is that the essence of coaching, “mutual understanding based on acceptance and empathy,” should be engraved in the consciousness of many people and shared.
Through conversations with coaches, clients themselves become aware of “something” that has remained unconscious, and if they are able to bring it to the surface as consciousness, coaching will begin to function effectively. Here are some definitions of “unconsciousness” and “consciousness” from the Kojien (Japanese Dictionary).

Unconsciousness

Being unconscious.

To be unaware of what one is doing while doing a certain thing.

The depths of the mind that the person is not aware of, but that affect the daily psyche. A psychoanalytic term.

Consciousness

A movement of the mind that perceives and thinks. Purely internal mental activity as opposed to sensory perception.

The state of being aware of what we are doing. Includes all the workings of our knowledge, emotions, and will, and underlies them.

Particularly social or self-consciousness.

To care about an object as it is. To perceive.

This reiteration of the definition leads to new awareness.
Consciousness” is something we are already aware of, so we can say, “I see…,” but “unconsciousness” is exactly what we are not aware of, and many psychologists are trying to clarify the depths of the unconscious.

Diversity and Inclusion is a noble idea that the world is trying to share, with Diversity being translated as “diversity and difference” and Inclusion as “acceptance and inclusion.
