Before the word “coaching” was imported to Japan in the 1990s, the word “coach” without “ing” was widely used mainly in the sports world. It is undeniable that the great success of the Witches of the Orient and their gold medal victories gave the image that “only those who endure the strict guidance of their coaches will win the crown.
Of course, the image of coaches has changed with the passage of time from the Showa to the Heisei era and then to the 2025 era. However, I feel that the essence of coaching has not been fully communicated in Japan, partly because of the introduction of a foreign word “coaching” as it is.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Coaching is an indispensable communication foundation for a society where people interact with each other, and its essence is mutual understanding based on “acceptance and empathy.
We hope that the essence of coaching will spread to as many people as possible through the CBL Coaching Information Bureau.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
